On this page you can find information about:
1) Volunteering
2) Hostel Service
1) How to operate as volunteer with Ofie Support Unit (NGO)?
To collaborate with us as volunteer we require:
A "resume" (short and pertinent CV), and at least one verifiable reference (by a workplace, school or university attended or where you are studying); an international insurance for volunteering (easy to get with an insurance company of your choice); a contact available in your country for any need.
Teaching / caring requires a copy of the Police Clearance Certificate (easily obtainable).
To get the visa you have to be vaccinated against yellow fever, and get the related certificate of vaccination or booklet (which you need to bring with you).
It's essential for you to have agreed and managed the (simple) antimalarial prophylaxis with competent medical staff of your country (we strongly suggest to take further precautions carrying some basic medicines appropriate for any journey, such as for intestinal problems or fever).
How can we help you: to get the Ghana Visa you must have an "invitation letter", stating the reasons for your stay in the country.
The letter will be provided by us when we will have examined and accepted your application.
The acceptance or rejection of the volunteer application is at the sole discretion of Ofie Support Unit (NGO) and of organisations / institutions with which we collaborate.
It's possible to complete the organisation of the stay (for your and our comfort) only after:
- The confirmation of “acceptance as volunteer”;
- Attainment of the Ghana visa.
You can collaborate as a volunteer in our projects even without the benefit of our (self-financing) services:
The same rules mentioned above apply to this situation, regarding the evaluation of the volunteer application.
You are very welcome here!

2) How to organize your stay without directly participating in the Ofie Support Unit (NGO) activities?
You must provide a contact in your country, dispose of the certified vaccination against yellow fever (and related documentation), have a travel insurance that covers medical expenses in Ghana (easily achievable).
Even in this case we will provide a letter of invitation, attesting your presence as indirect support to our NGO activities.
It's essential for you to have agreed and managed the (simple) antimalarial prophylaxis with competent medical staff of your country (we strongly suggest to take further precautions carrying some basic medicines appropriate for any journey, such as for intestinal problems or fever).
It's possible to complete the organisation of the stay (for your and our comfort) only after the attainment of the Ghana visa.
By sojourning in this way, of course, you can not practice any volunteer activities connected to our NGO!
